The Curriculum

Bladins International School of Malmö offers the full IB continuum – Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme. Committed to the continued development of the IB the school offers high quality education through the PYP, MYP and DP. In this way Bladins prepares students for the demands of higher education and of life.

- International Pre School (IPS)
Our focus on holistic education and the development of the whole child as an inquirer begins in our preschool, where our youngest learners follow the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).

Small class sizes allow us to create the best learning environment possible, ensuring that every child is seen and has his/her individual social and academic needs met.

Our multicultural preschool offers a safe and caring environment for children, irrespective of their English language level and allows them to prosper.

- Primary Years Programme (PYP)
Our PYP curriculum engages students in a variety of carefully planned, relevant educational experiences which ensures that their academic, social and emotional well-being needs are met. To further facilitate student learning and promote understanding, teachers implement a wide range of differentiated teaching strategies to cater for all levels of understanding and language skills in their classes.

At the end of the PYP our students are well prepared for the rigours of the Middle Years Programme and are independent, internationally-minded students that take responsibility for their own learning.

- Middle Years Programme (MYP)
The Middle Years Programme (MYP) at Bladins introduces students to tasks which promote conceptual understanding through global contexts and the development of higher order thinking skills.

Students study English and at least one other language in the MYP and are also supported should they wish to maintain their mother tongue. The study of languages supports the students in understanding their own culture and that of others.

The curriculum and the undertaking of an independent personal project in the final year of the programme provides students with the breadth and depth of knowledge and understanding to become successful Diploma Programme students.

- Diploma Programme (DP)
The Diploma Programme students at Bladins International School are taught in small, student focused classes by experienced international teachers.

Our subject offerings are tailored to the needs of our students and towards their chosen career paths. An experienced, international guidance counselor helps students make subject and university choices and guides them in the application process.

Bladins creates opportunities for our DP students to collaborate and interact with other DP students from around the globe and to engage in meaningful service activities in and outside of our school.
