The International Baccalaureate (IB) offers three high-quality programmes of international education to a worldwide community of schools. The three programmes for students aged 3 to 19 help develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills required to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world. There are about 3660 IB World Schools in more than 140 countries with more than 1 360 000 IB-students at the different IB-prgrammes.

The Diploma Programme for students aged 16 to 19 is a two-year curriculum leading to final examinations and a qualification that is welcomed by leading universities around the world.

At Katedralskolan, like many other schools in Sweden, the Diploma Programme is preceded with a preparatory year. The students will study courses applied to the two coming IB Diploma years.
